By using obtenla.com you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
1. What we provide
obtenla.com provides free educational resources about U.S. immigration and naturalization, including study material for the civics test and informational guides on processes and requirements. We are developing a tool to check USCIS case status, which is not yet available.
2. What we do not provide
We do not provide legal advice. Alberto Emilio de Poo Bas, doing business as Libre sin Deudas, is not a law firm, and its staff are not attorneys or EOIR-accredited representatives. We do not prepare or file forms, we do not represent you before any agency, and we do not advise you on your case.
We are not affiliated with the U.S. government. See our Legal Disclaimer for detail.
3. Acceptable use
You agree to:
- Look up only receipt numbers that belong to you or for which you have the case holder’s authorization
- Not use automated methods (bots, scrapers) against the site or its tools
- Not attempt to access accounts, data, or systems belonging to others
- Not reproduce content for commercial purposes without written permission
Looking up another person’s receipt number without their permission may violate the law. We reserve the right to suspend access for any misuse.
4. Accuracy of information
We work to keep content current, but immigration laws, forms, fees, and procedures change frequently. We do not guarantee that information is complete, current, or error-free. Always verify at uscis.gov.
5. Service availability
The site is provided “as is” and “as available.” We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature at any time without notice. The case status tool depends on USCIS systems that are outside our control.
6. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Alberto Emilio de Poo Bas, doing business as Libre sin Deudas, will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from use of the site, including missed deadlines, decisions about your immigration case, or incorrect or delayed status information.
Your immigration case is your responsibility. Do not substitute what you read here for official USCIS information or the advice of an attorney.
7. Intellectual property
The site’s design, original text, and software are the property of Alberto Emilio de Poo Bas, doing business as Libre sin Deudas. Civics test questions and other USCIS materials are works of the U.S. government and are in the public domain.
8. Third-party links
We may link to external sites, including uscis.gov and legal aid organizations. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content.
